This page lets you configure the colors of everything that isn't a Windows control.
The various color categories are arranged in two main groups:
At the bottom of the color list is a search field that lets you search the color list.
Selecting a category from the color list displays its associated colors on the right. Some colors also display a preview of how it will look in real life - useful when you're picking both text and background colors and want to check for readability.
Note that when you edit colors on this page you're only editing the colors in the current set ("dark" or "light") - use the options on the Themes page to select which color set is in use.
The color picker button is the main control for editing colors. Some color pickers have a checkbox on them, which lets the associated color be enabled or disabled. Clicking the button displays the color picker.
The color picker lets you choose a color using both the red/green/blue and hue/saturation/luminance models. The current color values are shown at the top-left of the picker - you can click there to type new values in directly. If the color in question supports transparency, an additional slider lets you set the alpha value from 0 (fully transparent) to 255 (fully opaque).
The eyedropper icon can be dragged out to pick a color from somewhere else on your screen.
The 16 squares at the bottom let you save your own favorite colors - right-click on a slot to store the current color, or left-click to load a saved color in.
The button shows a menu containing several commands:
Some of these commands may be disabled depending on the current color value (e.g. if it's the same as the initial or factory default, the reset commands will be disabled).
The commands in that menu are also available when you right-click the color picker button itself (so for example, you don't need to show the color picker in order to copy the color to the clipboard).
If you turn off the destination or background colors, the main background color will be used for both source and destination file displays (and similarly, if the 'filtered' colors are turned off the main colors will be used instead).
The Inline Sub-folders color is used in the icon view modes (e.g. thumbnails) when sub-folders are expanded. The different background color makes it easier to distinguish the contents of sub-folders from those of the parent folder.
The Current sort column option lets you specify different colors to be used in details and Power modes. The column the list is currently sorted by will be displayed in the specified colors.
