You can use HTML `<a>` links in the status bar definition to add clickable links to run commands or show popup menus.

==Run a command==

Use the `href` attribute to specify a command to run. For example,

<a href="help about">About</a></code>

This would display the word "About" on the status bar as a clickable link. Clicking it would run the `Help ABOUT` internal command.

==Show a popup menu==

Use the `id` attribute to specify the name of a toolbar to show as a popup menu. The toolbar must have previously been created via the [[:customize|Customize]] system. For example,

This uses SVG to display a red dot. Clicking the dot pops open the toolbar called "MyCommands".

==Tooltips==

You can add tooltips to your links or popup menus using the `text` attribute. For example,
